On Wednesday this past week, my husband and I started feeling sick. The boys were both snotty, and we’d been watching the news—way too much, but you know. It’s hard to peel your eyes away. On Thursday we decided to keep everyone home, out of the abundance of caution. Here’s everything we are doing to prepare for coronavirus.
As Seth Godin would say, “This might not work.” I can make zero promises about whether this podcast will last, if it will work, and whether or not I’ll wake my children up while trying to record. I’m currently making this from a corner of my apartment while in quarantine with two children and a husband in New York City. Here’s a look at what life looks like right now.
I have a microphone, a computer, and an urge to talk to all of you. If you hear small children in the background, it’s because… there are small children in the background. But first, let me introduce you to a new podcast that I’m working on.
Last year I read 43 books, the majority of them by women. Overall, this year was a year filled with GOOD BOOKS. Here are my ten favorites from my reading stack of 2019, from parenting books to business books to memoirs.
Every year, B-School opens once for enrollment, and once it’s closed—it’s closed up. It won’t be back until 2020. Today’s the last day to sign up for B-School. Enrollment closes tonight at 4PM Pacific / 7PM Eastern.
I know it can feel like the whole internet is abuzz about B-School right now, and sometimes we do things that aren’t actually a good fit for our needs right now. As always, I want to encourage you to make the best choice for you and what YOU need right now. Don’t feel pressure to do B-School if it’s not the right time or fit for you. It took me four years to sign up—only you can know when it’s the right time. Here’s what I’d think through if I were on the fence.
So yesterday was a DAY. You might know these days. I hadn’t showered in a couple of days, and, well, I’ll just say that I definitely needed a shower. I’d woken up at 4:55am to finish editing a podcast that was overdue, and at 6:16am the boys woke up. I grabbed coffee, shuffled them to breakfast and toys, and then… A strange gurgling sound started emanating from the bathroom. Ew, um—what? Our bathtub started filling up like a spooky gross horror movie. Not with clean water, either. Dark, dank, muddy water. Well, this wouldn’t bode well.
It took me a really long time to sign up for B-School. At first, it made sense: I was super broke, had $100k in student loan debt, and I was trying to learn everything I could while doing it on the cheap. But after a while, I ended up making a bunch of mistakes that cost me a TON. Here are the mistakes I made, and why I would do it differently if I were to go back and do it again.
Marie Forleo’s B-School program is back, and I’m thrilled to be offering a bonus again this year. But if you’ve never heard of B-School or you’re just joining the party, then read this first. I’ll give you a big overview of what B-School is, the core modules, the bonuses, who it’s right for, and when you should take it.
